If you haven’t already binge-watched The OA on Netflix, stop reading this post and come back when you’re done.
All caught up? Good, because from here on out it gets spoilery!
If you’re at all like me, finishing The OA once wasn’t enough. I’ve re-watched it in full at least once, but I’ve re-visited various scenes multiple times. THIS SHOW IS DRIVING ME INSANE. But in the best way.
It pops into my brain, randomly and inexplicably. I’ll be in the middle of a non-The OA conversation, and have to stop as a new thought pops into existence. Fortunately, my friends are equally as obsessed and are actively encouraging these random thought-bursts.
Most things I’ve read about The OA are trying to tackle the big things: is Prairie telling the truth? Are Hap and/or Rachel working for the FBI? Is Prairie actually in a mental institution, where Homer is another patient/her Doctor, and that’s why she wakes up in a white room? Or was Prairie actually abducted, but the other abductees are just delusions created as a coping mechanism? And the list goes on.
What keeps me up at night is less macro.
