I almost explicitly review books within the Young Adult category. I freely choose the books that I review based on whether or not I think they will interest me. Reading is a passion of mine, and I have no reservations about stating my personal thoughts and opinions on the books that I read. I will not refuse to review a book simply because I did not enjoy it. I will follow my rating system, which means I will post both positive and negative reviews.
Each book review includes the publication information for that book (publisher, release date, pages, etc), a brief summary, my thoughts (review), and a rating of 1-5. My book summaries are taken from Goodreads.
My reviews are based on the following 1-5 star rating system.
5 Stars: Life-altering, mind-blowing; just magical.
4 Stars: Simply delightful.
3 Stars: Good, but not particularly memorable.
2 Stars: Meh.
1 Star: Like beating your head against a wall.
Please always keep in mind that these ratings are completely subjective and merely my opinion. Since they are subjective, that also means that you have every right to disagree with me. Will disagreeing with me make me consider changing my rating? Probably not. But it would make for a fairly interesting dialogue!
Also, please always keep in mind that just because I am not a fan of a certain author’s book does not mean it is a bad book (I mean, it could be a bad book, or it just might not be my cup of tea). I steer clear of bashing anyone personally, and I try my best to point out what didn’t work for me as a reader. Does that mean those same things won’t work for someone else? Definitely not. But, if nothing else, I hope that you will be better prepared to decide if you think my reasons for disliking something are valid or not.
