I’m Kelly, from Nova Scotia – Halifax, you might guess, based on my blog’s name. But alas, I have lured you here under false pretences. I actually live in what us locals call the Dark Side (otherwise known as Dartmouth). And I really only frequent Halifax when I have a good enough reason to cross the bridge. I do have a pretty nice view of Halifax from over here though.
I love over-sized sunglasses and I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich. I can live without my iPhone but I prefer not to. I freckle easily and excessively when exposed to the sun at length. I’m currently re-watching Grey’s Anatomy for the third or fourth time in its entirety. I have two cats and one pup, who desperately wants them to love him, but they’re not having it.
My husband and I were married a little over 4 years ago. Our relationship works because I don’t care if he plays video games late into the night, and he actually enjoys my Gemini tendencies. I have two tattoos. I’m not ashamed to use my Selfie Stick and I’m quick to find the humour in most situations. I’m a realist at heart, I hate to eat my vegetables and I’ve recently discovered a love for red wine. I’m a Google-certified Pokemon Master, and I’m only missing two Pokemon to have a completed living Pokedex.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University and I majored in Philosophy. I wanted to go to Law School, but I finished my undergrad and couldn’t stomach the thought of more
debt school. I’m currently working in an office-setting, as a management professional. That’s my fancy way of saying I support a team of people who provide a service to a group of clients.
I’m terrible at taking legitimate selfies; I never know what kind of face to make? A lot of them end up looking like a variation of duck lips.
Kelly in Hali
I used to blog about books – and I loved it. But after a few years, I realized that as much as I loved books, I didn’t only love books. So I took a break from blogging. Now that I’m back, my scope is a bit wider. Kelly in Hali will be about whatever is inspiring me in the moment. Things like the shows I’m obsessing over and the DIY projects I try to conquer. But you can also safely assume I’ll still talk about the books I’m reading from time to time.
I love to write about things that cause a discussion on my blog and I’m aiming to take most of the pictures you’ll see here myself. I’m an iPhone-ographer, but still occasionally dream of taking it up professionally. One day, when I win my millions.
Enough chit chat from me and I hope you enjoy Kelly in Hali as much as I enjoy curating it’s content!
